Barbour Icon Black International Jacket 8053

£319.00

Description

The Birth of Barbour International In 1936, Duncan Barbour, a keen
motorcyclist himself, developed the Barbour International, a waxed cotton
suit designed specifically for use in the 1936 International Six Day Trials
(ISDT). Barbour International became a market leader in motorcycle clothing
right up to the late 1970s and as well as endurance motorcycling, was worn
in other areas of motorcycle sport too: by army motorcycle display teams
and 14 different police forces. In 1964, actor Steve McQueen wore a Barbour
International suit together with the rest of the US team members at the
ISDT in East Germany.
Reimagining the original jacket eight decades later,
this limited-edition piece is constructed in heavyweight waxed cotton
with bellows pockets in lightweight wax.
The angled 'map pocket' at the chest works alongside a throat strap, a buckle-close belt and
a Barbour Tartan lining to create the signature biker look.
